Frequently Asked QuestionsHow much should I budget for everyday expenses?
South Africa represents great value for money for visitors and you can survive on surprisingly little day to day. A good breakfast will set you back about R35, lunch at a cafe/restaurant about R50 and an evening meal with a bottle of wine can be had for R80 and upwards. Cape Town has a distinctively cosmopolitan feel and offers great food from all over the world at countless bars, restaurants, cafe's, clubs and street side vendors to suit all budgets and tastes.
Some of our projects include one or more meals each day. Typical costs include R4.50 for a paper, R14 for a bottle of beer, R30 for a bottle of wine, R24 for a McDonalds meal, R10 for a train from Cape Town to Simons Town and a MyCiti Bus from Table View to Cape Town is only R10.
